HEALTHCARE PROVIDER MIGRATED TO SCO OPENSERVER 6 FOR HIPPA COMPLIANCE
Computer Business Consultants successfully migrates Triad Senior Living.

ORLANDO, Florida, 13 December 2005 – IT solutions provider, Computer Business Consultants, Inc., has just completed it’s first successful application software migration, increasing performance, security, and reliability using the world’s most reliable secure operating system SCO OpenServer 6.

For their migration Triad Senior Living chose Computer Business for its past performance of innovative and cost-effective IT solutions and its focus on SCO Unix. Based in Atlanta Triad operates healthcare facilities providing long-term, sub-acute, respite, and Hospice care in the South-Eastern region of the United States.

“Computer Business was able to save our facilities time and money in our HIPAA compliance and IT management. What they did is truly amazing, they consolidated our existing healthcare application, e-mail server, and file server into one very reliable, very fast server utilizing our existing 5-year old servers” said Chuck Henderson, Director of Operations and Information Technology for Triad.

According to Clinton Pownall, President of Computer Business, the cost-savings running SCO Unix more than makes up for the cost of the migration. “We chose SCO OpenServer for its reliability, scalability, security, and stability. The cost of maintaining [cost of ownership of] SCO OpenServer 6 operating systems is one-fifth that of a Windows server and our clients can run multiple services on one SCO server that would require two if not three Windows Servers per facility.” Pownall said.

Triad chose their existing software provider, Achieve Healthcare Technologies, the largest privately held provider of information products and services for the long-term care industry, because of its past performance and stability on the SCO Unix platform. Triad expressed delight over the seamless migration of Achieve’s software to OpenServer 6. Pownall explained, “We partner with many software developers running applications on SCO servers. We support their clients’ hardware and computer networks and we offer turn-key SCO servers, installation services, and unsurpassed SCO support leaving the software developers to do what they do best, develop software.”
