Problem: The RAID adapter for a HP NetServer is not recognized when OpenServer 5.0.x is installed.

When installing SCO OpenServer Enterprise on an HP NetServer with NetRaid controller for a hard drive array and Adaptec controller for a SCSI CD-ROM drive and no bootstring is used, then the error "Unable to locate boot disk controller". is displayed When using the bootstring supplied by HP:

link="amird" Sdsk=amird(0,0,0,0) Srom=alad(0,5,0)

The the error Restart Not Found, and the installation aborts.

Cause: The hard drive and/or CD-ROM drive are not being located for the installation.

Solution:

Use the following bootstring:

restart link=amird Sdsk=amird(0,0,0,0) Srom=alad(0,0,5,0)

Note: A floppy disk with the amird drivers provided by HP will have to be available to complete this installation.
