Problem: In Windows Server 2000 print jobs cannot be deleted.  The error "Access Denied" will appear when attempting to cancel jobs.

Solution:  

First, check the Security properties of the printer by right clicking the printer, selecting properties, and then security.  Ensure Creator Owner and Administrator have proper permissions.

If the security access rights are correct then a print job may be hung on the printer.

• Power off an on again the printer.
• If the printer is a network printer and is hooked up to a print server, power off and on the print server.
• If the printer server has a user interface attempt to cancel all jobs.
  

If after the above you cannot still clear print jobs, reboot the server.
