Problem: While installing Word Perfect 8 in Windows 98 the error message "Need to Update Windows Messaging System" appears.

Cause: WP 8 wants to update the Windows Messaging as it is not a version it knows of.

Solution:  To keep the install program from overwriting the newer Windows Messaging version we need to do the below steps:

1. Rename MAPI32.DLL to MAPI32.BUF in the Windows\System directory.
2. Copy from the WP 8 CD the File MAPNT40.DLL, located in the Corel\Suite8\Appman\Wkswpi8 directory,  to Windows\System directory on the hard drive.
3. Rename MAPNT40.DLL to MAPI32.DLL.
4. Run the setup for WP 8 it will now install without asking to Update Windows Messaging.
5. After the install is complete...

1. Rename MAPI32.DLL in Windows\System to MAPI32.OLD.
2. Rename MAPI32.BUF in Windows\System to MAPI32.DLL.
3. Reboot the Computer.
