Problem:  My Iomega Zip® drive is not recognized in Windows 98® but maybe in DOS mode or in Windows at a DOS prompt.

Solution:  Reboot PC and boot to Safe Mode.  Shut down from Safe Mode and reboot to Normal Mode.  The Zip® drive will now be recognized by Windows.    For instructions on how to boot Windows 98® see technical article How to Start a Windows 98-Based Computer in Safe Mode
